"Breaking Light" - SOLD

Well I am up in Yellowstone National Park, and this is outside the place we are staying. This is certainly a bit more abstract, so if you take about five steps back from your computer screen and I think the painting will make more sense. I will be painting outside for the next few days.

Aaron,

You are such an amazing painter!
I don't have to get back from
my computer to see how skilled
you are with light and form.

I agree. This just jumped out at me. Controlled looseness. Love it.

your blog is my favorite amoungst the sea of daily painting blogs. it's refreshing to see such an original take on the usual subject matter. your brush work is full of energy which i love.

love this one! I guess it's your grasp of values that makes that sense of light through foilage just perfect on this one, and then you communicate those values so concisely (sp?)- I really do admire that about your paintings, so, so much.

I really appreciate the loose abstract quality, more so than tight realism.....It is much more creative than just copying what you see, which is a skill but not necessarily creative. Keep it up!!
